How do you catch the three rare Pokemon in Pokemon Gold?

Paralyze them, or throw a master ball. paralyze them every time you find them lower their HP down to deep red zone. Save before you think your going to encounter them. Just in case they run away :(

the only way i found of doing it was getting a haunter/gengar between level 35-39. teach it hypnosis and mean look as it's growing. then when you are in the same patch of grass as entei, raikou or suicune (by checking on your pokedex), use a repel, so only the legendary dog will appear. in battle, use mean look first off. your gengar should be quick enough to outpace the legendary, so it will be unable to escape. then, hypnotize it, and get its HP down low. then toss ultra balls at it. make sure gengar doesn't faint, or the legendary can run away. get some hyper potions good luck! hope i helped!!! =]

no. weakening them won't work because they know better how to run away from you (they're still wild). you won't stand a chance catching them even if you battle with them (they fled immediately). my advice, get a master ball (ultra balls and pokeball won't work at all, trust me. i play it) and catch them with it (they never fail). too bad, you can only get one for free from prof. elm, unless you are lucky enough to go to the slot machine and gather as much token as you can. that's the only way, master ball. kurt's custom ball will do, but it's a slim chance to none.

Weaken them by getting them Paralyzed. I'm not sure if False Swipe is a move you can use in Pokemon Gold, but if you can, do it until they have one HP. Then use Mean Look or something, and keep throwing Ultra Balls, and some Timer Balls, and you'll eventually catch them.
