Would it be worth it to play Dragon Age Origins after Playing Dragon Age II?

I really enjoyed Dragon Age II, and I want to continue the experience. Would the game play seem to old to still enjoy, or would it seem to awkward, if I played the original Dragon Age? I play this game on the PS3.
