When does Scyther evolve in Pokemon Diamond?

Pokemon diamond/pearl/platinum what level should i evolve my scyther?

  • I am making a baton passing team and i want the end result of scizor to have iron defence. The only problem is that i dont know what level to evolve it at. Should i just evolve it at lv 37. If you have a different opinion please do say it.

    Scizor learns Iron Defense at level 37. I think that if you trade right now, it'll learn Iron Defense upon after evolution. But if that doesn't work, get a Heart Scale from the news press in Solaceon Town and head on over to Pastoria town. Find the move relearner and say that you wans your Scizor to relearn a move that it can learn via level up (not TM or breeding or tutoring moves) and trade over the Heart Scale. From there, choose Iron Defense and you'll have to delete a move to replace it (if you already have 4 moves).

Don't forget you need a METAL COAT to evolve your scyther into scizor..

you should evolve it BEFORE level 37, that way when you get him to level 37 he learns the attack. if you do it after he is already level 37 i'm pretty sure he cant learn it.

you should evolve it at level 45 so it can learn X-scissor and NIght slash it learns X-scissor at level 41 and night slash at level 45
