Why am i not able 2 play games against friends on yahoo messenger?

I'm asked 2 play a game r ask someone else 2 play a game they are ready 2 play but not me a box pops up something bout an error. i try restarting my pc but that doesn't work either. Where the game is suppose 2 be there is an little red x in the upper left hand corner. I really want 2 play these games against other friends. I invite them they invite me but yet we can not play against each other
