How do you make a magic book?

Help with making custom magic items in pathfinder rpg?

• I see how in the book there are descriptions of certain effects that can be placed upon items. It states the cost to make magic items with that effect and there is also a series of pre-made magic items. However I would like to make a magic item with an effect not on the list and I cannot figure out how to do that. The main thing I am wondering is how is the cost decided. For example I want to create a hat that has a feather on it which when removed summons a giant eagle that allows the user to ride it. Also the feather will regenerate in a week.(wondering if that is a good time for magic item recharge) I have a few other ideas of other magic items I would want to be able to make but cannot figure out pricing.

  Sounds a bit like one of the "token" magic items. Find the one the token that is the closest fit and re-flavor it's effect to match what you are looking for. I have also included a link to an item from a Pathfinder accessory that sounds right up your alley. It has all the effects you want, it just needs to be re-flavored and have some stats adjusted. As for cost, if the hat takes up a slot I would halve the value of the rune as they do not and that is reflected in their price. I would halve the price AGAIN, if the item could only be used once per week.
