Is it true that space is mostly an empty void?

Is the void of space truly void of everything?

  • If two metal plates are placed close to each other in space, some force will slowly cause them to move toward each other.

  • Answer:

It's called the Casimir force. It can be modeled in a variety of ways, as a vacuum fluctuation (Casimir), solid state (Lifshitz), or quantum (Schwinger) effect.

Well, no actually, space is not a void. Space is loaded with energy, causing it to have a temperature of about 2.7k degree, and occasional particles, mostly of hydrogen. Non-zero space is also the basis for Hawking radiation. The force you are describing is the gravitational field that exists between the plates. There is also a "dark energy" cauusing the plates to seperate.

imagine a tank of water, were the water is space. then drop a solid sphere into the middle of the tank. if one was to remove the center of the sphere he would end up with a vacuum in the middle of the sphere. so now we have water, which is space, the sphere , which is matter, and the empty vacuum in the middle of the sphere. if none of the water or (space) did note seep threw the sphere then how did the middle of the object become full of space. the answer is the middle of the sphere or (vacuum) is not the same substance as the water or (space). this can only mean that space is not a vacuum but some sort of material that flow like water.

That would be gravity... Void space is not truly void, there are particles every so often.

no ,space is not void it has energy
