Hey.....Im in Physics 1 regular and i was thinking of taking physics 1 honors. Is physics so much harder than chemistry or easier? I got a B in chemistry honors last year and a A in algebra 2 honors last year and i was wondering if it would be a good thing to take physics 1 honors this year? is physics even that hard?

Answer:
Physics theory and Chemistry theory go hand ind hand. If you can master one you have master the other Except quantum mechanics no one can master it according to Niles Bohr.

for some people, physics is much harder than chemistry or math for others, it is easier what matters is your interest and your effort since you have shown that you are a decent scholar and can handle some math and abstract concepts then you could certainly handle honors high school physics if you were interested in it and applied yourself

If you can ace physics 1 reg and love the stuff in it like I do, I would take physics honors. If its natural to you and you get all the forumulas and stuff, I'd take that. You can always google up a math problem, thats all established. But its probably more beneficial to have a knowledge of physics. Of course, thats all based on what pot you are trying to plant your carrer in.

physics makes logical sense much like math. chemistry can sometimes have rules that are broken often much like english. I personally think physics is easier and have aced many classes of it because every answer must make logical sense or it is wrong, but many people think that chem is easier, although i find it much much more difficult and usually get by with a B-.

if you are attracted to it go for it. no one is forcing you. however, I would take whichever class has the better teacher.

There is quite a lot of mathematics in physics, but properly understood, physics is NOT mathematics. It can be much more difficult for kids because it is not symbolic, and the concepts just have to be understood before they can be cast in symbolic form. In other words, it's ALL "word problems," all the time. So take it if you like understanding things and thinking them through.

Physics is not so hard. A lot of people think it is because some of the concepts, like relativity, cannot be experienced by people in a person experience kind of way. Such concepts require math that is usually only taught in college. Honors Physics in HS will require good algebraic skills, as well as Geometry. If Calculus is needed, the Physics teacher will probably gloss over the portion you need to use, without offering proofs. You will most likely learn Newtonian Physics, Heat, Light, Electricity and magnetism.
