What can I do with a Neuroscience degree but no medical school?

I am highly interested in getting a degree in Neuroscience? 10 PTS..?

  • I'm a 19 years old male U.S. citizen who just graduated high school in June. I'm not doing anything as of now and I don't have a job (nor had one)...I really don't have much experience, but my folks are doing well (financially). Anyway, I have sparked an extraordinary interest in the field of Neuroscience... and I am highly interested in getting a College Degree on it. I'm pretty sure (99%) that I must start at Community College first, correct? (Please notify me if there are alternatives) then transfer on to a University. Can you give me advice on this? Should I do some studying on Neuroscience on my own independently before going to school (like on the Internet, library, books, etc)? What specifically do I need to be knowledgable at when it comes to Neuroscience? FYI I'm an Asian American male (Korean) if that makes any difference..

  • Answer:

You will probably need at least 6, and most likely 8 years of school. Of course you could start at a community college to get your associates degree and transfer to a better school. I don't know where you live, so you would have to check out the programs at the schools around you. I might add that that field is not an easy subject, it might be hard if you don't consider yourself a smart person. If you find neuroscience interesting, read as many books as you can about it. You need to have a deep understanding of biology, that's probably where you will get your bachelors. then move on to more specifics.
