Why do post and packaging cost so much?

Bubblewrap packaging if it where filled with helleium would it cost less to post something wrapped in it?

  • o.k another daft one i know..if you could buy bubblewrap filled with a gas thats lighter than air..say hellium for example..would it make my parcels lighter to post and therefore cost less to send them...or maybe fill the boxes with balloons filled with something similar...hope you find this question o.k,,,it was difficult to catorgorise

  • Answer:

I have a feeling that the weight of the plastic of the bubble wrap would be greater than the upthrust produced - but it would certainly make an interesting physics project to work it out. The balloon packaging inside the box might make more sense though.

This is the coolest question i've read in quite a while. I think it would be lighter. Where can i get some?

yes Rozy that's a great thought it would be lighter and would be a lot less cost and save the postman's back with all the heavy parcels?

Reggie

good idea, but the difference it would make is negligible

cake_taken

why? would it not cost more by buying hellium anyway? so just post it!

maestro

You wouldn't need to post. It would float into the sky and recieve by air mail without the cost =]
