How to break the shy barrier?

How can you break the light barrier with only a paper airplane?

  • My friend did this the other day and it blew my mind. I thought nothing with mass could exceed the speed of light, but apparently if it has high surface area and low mass (such as a piece of paper) it CAN break the light barrier. Basically it's a really complex design that I tried finding online but couldn't figure out. Of course my friend wouldn't tell me how to make it, but he made like 3 of them, and as soon as he let it go it vanished. And no, it wasn't a magic trick. He had his hand up in the air in plain sight the entire time, and gave his wrist a slight flick and then BAM it shoots off into space somewhere. So if ANYONE has this design or a design that can at least break the sound barrier, please tell me how to make it. Thanks~

Forget breaking the light barrier. This cannot and has not been done with a paper plane or anything else man made. You could break the sound barrier if you attached the paper plane to a supersonic jet.

It's a trick! The airplane or screwed up hanky or tennis ball or whatever the magician uses is simply thrown over your head so your eyes lose track of it. It involved the limitations of your field of vision. Stage magicians tend to do it as a joke on the volunteer, the audience can see what's going on but the volunteer is amazed.
