Why is it important to use substitute energy?

How do i convert energy to mass?

  • I need to convert a certain amount of energy (1.2 x 10^27 J) into mass, but I'm not sure how to do this? do i use e=mc2 because i dont have any other values to substitute into the equation?? please help!!!

  • Answer:

You can calculate the equivalent mass of the quantity of energy you mention using e=mc2 but to actually perform the conversion is a different matter - you will face pretty well insurmountable difficulties - I wouldn't like to guess how much of the energy, if any, you can actually convert.
