Can you freeze a bubble?

Can you freeze a bubble?

  • And would it fall to the ground if you did?

  • Answer:

It depends on what the bubble is made of. If you have ever seen little bubbles in glass or in ice, those are frozen bubbles. If you wanted to freeze a soap bubble, I would guess that would take some effort, but I don't see why it wouldn't be possible. If you did it slow enough, the air contraction wouldn't be a problem, since the bubble diameter would change to accommodate the lower volume before freezing. If you did it really quickly, the outer bubble would become hard before the bubble had an opportunity to break. Some things would be too fragile or too difficult to freeze. But in general, you could freeze many types of bubbles.

no, the ice crystals would pop it, plus the air inside it would shrink (or decrease in volume basically), creating a vacuum that would automatically pop the bubble. Awesome question though!!

Wow, I don't know. That would be awsome. But most likely not because bubbles die too easy. Man, that's a cool question haha *star*
