Why is 0^0 undefined?

Why there is +13:00 Time zone, since there are only 24 hours?

  • I see there is +12:00 and -12:00 which is 24 hours different. It was said that the Earth rotate in 24 hours. However, in my computer time zone, I saw +13:00 which is the time zone of Nuku'alofa. Why there are +13:00 since there are only 24 hours and the -12:00 is maximum of the negative time zone?

    Nukualofa, Tonga is in fact GMT +13:00, which means that Tonga is 13 hours ahead of GMT time. There are in fact 49 time times zones around the World as there are many places that are 1/4hr. off the hour, 1/2 hr. off the hour & 3/4hr. off the hour. Newfoundland is a good example. Every country can decide on their own what their time is. The government of Tonga decided that they would use the time that is UTC + 13 hours. So when it is 12 noon Tuesday in England, it is 13 hours later, 1 AM Wednesday in Tonga. The Tonga people like it that way; you would have to ask them why they did it that way.

The people in Tonga have many dealings with the people to their west, but there's not much to the east. So it makes sense to have Tonga only one hour different from the time zone to its west, rather than being 23 hours different.
