Is the Ultimate Solution to Global Warming Population Control?

Over population what are possible solutions?

  • To me climate change global warming etc are just side issues The real problem is population increase or overpopulation as it affects everything including global warming! We live in a finite world and the global population is increasing rapidly this cant be sustainable somethings got to give! What do you see happening, food prices have started to rise this will no doubt continue, as resources become scarce war become much more likely, huge populations are vulnerable to disease, global warming is already here and on the rise, run away global warming is a distinct possibility! What will have to be done to prevent the above? Is it likely the whole world can co-operate on things like population control or are we doomed fto fight for the scraps? Will new technology like genetically modified food nuclear power electric cars etc make it sustainable for a long while yet or will deforestation pollution etc continue to rise? Will the poor die on mass and the rich survive? What is your prediction for the future? What need to be done to make life sustainable long term?

    Humans are no more privileged than the rest of the animal kingdom in this respect. Population is ultimately curtailed by famine, disease and war. Although individuals appear to have the nous to realise we have to be a lot more cooperative in sharing and conserving resources, the rich and powerful in most countries are too greedy to pay anything more than lip service. I imagine they believe that they and their offspring will be the survivors

To be totally honest i think we should just make it illegal EVERYWHERE for people to have over three kids

There's no hope. I have stated on here several times that people are selfish if they have more than two children, one to replace each of them. I just get thumbs down by the score. People believe what they want to and approach everything from a selfish standpoint. I don't believe the average IQ in Britain is very high anyway.

You can't control population simply because you can't use government to suppress the natural urge to have sexual intercourse. I am not convinced that the world is overpopulated, or at least not convinced that the places we consider overpopulated are the ones which really are - the populations of the UK and the Netherlands are far more dense in terms of people per square kilometre than Ethiopia, Kenya or Sudan. The real problem is not overpopulation - the earth provides enough for us all. The problem is misappropriation of resources, greed, inequity and unfair distribution.

Free contraception! Also, there is a high correlation between people who critique others for having several children and people opposing abortion i.e. hypocrites. I'd also like to put it out there that in my opinion that Buddha lady is not very up-to-date on her opinion of the british population's education or even an accurate perception of intelligence :)
