Why do we study geography?

Why choose to study geography?

• I need to do a essay on why i would choose to study geography at A-level, to practise my essay style! but can not think of anything to include.......ideas are welcome! please help!!!

  Well, I choose to study Geo because I'm interested in the world as a trivial type of interest (know the capitals of the world, being able to explain why it rains harder in certain parts of the world, knowing the tallest mountains, difference between plains, valleys and directional type of curiosity (..how longitude and latitude work). I'm fascinated by maps and how they work together to make the world communicate, how Geo is an important part of the government and how it's used internally to find secretive information. Also, weather is important to know for events, traveling and dressing..meteorology is part of this exceptional major. Don't want to forget learning more about the environment. Also Geographers want to concentrate in learning about 5 crucial points, culture is one of them. I'm interested in Italy and I want to minor in Italian. Geo is a great way to see the world. Basically Geographers have different reasons why they chose to go this path...but one of the major reasons is to educate the ignorant on a subject that tends to be neglected .though it shouldn't be, because it is said Geography is the mother of all subjects.
