How to convert UTC to local time in Javascript?

UTC to gmt conversion.?

  • I am kinda confused on how to do it. How would I convert 8PM GMT to utc, what time would it be for me if I am currently in the utc-0600.

GMT is the old name of what is now called Universal Time Coordinated. No conversion is required, it is six of one, half a dozen of the other.

UTC and GMT are within 1 second of each other. There is no official timekeeper for GMT anymore (not since 1972), so nobody knows exactly what the GMT is. But GMT and UTC were defined so that the difference was zero in 1972, and would never have drifted more than 1 second apart.
