Why doesn't my question post to Yahoo Answers?

Why do you lose points when you post a question to Yahoo answers?

  • Yahoo answers point ranges are stupid! You lose points for asking questions and yet gain points for answering. So eventually, there will only be answers and the answers are just ones to get points. Also, I know of ways to get 10points as best answer even though the asker never selected you as best answer.. it is a flaw in programming.. if you are smart enough, you know it too!

  • Answer:

    You don't get something for nothing, not even on Yahoo Answers. When you ask a question, it costs 5 points. You get 3 back if you choose the Best Answer yourself. If it goes to voting and the result is No Best Answer, you get all 5 points back.

Another reason is that if there were no penalty for asking a question people would fill the site with homework even more than they do now.

DUH! It's like anything else in the world. To get something you usually pay for it. And you are rewarded for supplying something for the good of others. WOW its great to know there are smart people in yahoo answers that can figure out complicated things like voting thumbs down on all the other peoples answers just in case the person who asked the question doesn't choose a best answer yours might win.
