How is life in NEW ZEALAND?

I been looking to live a easier happier life. America is not working for me. New Zealand was one my list of possible relocation. I hear there are much nicer people and very laid back. Plus nice weather with beautiful people. But I recently heard it's like America and now most places, where you spend more time at work instead of with your loved ones, working hard for almost nothing. Plus freedom is really what you think it is. That's one thing I want to mainly do, is spend most of my time with my family while being able to support them. I could live and work on a farm with my family, but most places are too expensive for me to do so. Anyone know a place where I could live like how I want? Thanks. Much love.

Wellington could be a great place, they have real nice people there but weather and little not big earthquakes are not so good. Hamilton (Waikato) is a great place to live good weather, good people, and the best thing, we don't get much earthquakes at all. But since in christchurch had a horrible earthquake which took many lives, they get aftershocks. I live in hamilton nz and it's the best place so far. Don't pick Dannevirke, they have gang members there.
