My Windows Movie Maker for Vista makes my video and audio file the file type before I put it on is movie clip what do I do?

  • Answer:

It sounds as though the video file you are trying to use in Windows Movie Maker is not compatible with the program. If a video imported into Windows Movie Maker is dropped into the Audio/Music track, then the file is incompatible. You will have to convert the video to one of the following file name extensions (formats): .asf, .avi, dvr-ms, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, .wmv
