I have actually been to Romania and know exactly where it is... it was where my charter flight stopped on the way to Kuwiat. I only saw the airport - very dismal, it made me feel as if I went back in time. The runway was overrun with tumbleweed, and there was grass growing up between the pavement of the runway. I saw several "Aeroflot" jets which where in various degrees of decay that I would never fly in, sitting off to the side of the runway. Where did you get your information about "jet engine" being discovered by a Romanian citizen? Your information is false. I have included a link on the history of the jet engine for you to review. The modern jet engine was engineered simultaneously by Hans von Ohain in GERMANY and Frank Whittle in England in 1930. Prior to that there were "theories and designs" which came from England, Italy, France and Greece, but not any from Romania.

Romania has a rich and varied history. Look for it wedged in the eastern southern side of Eastern Europe, wedged between Ukraine, Hungary, Bulgaria and Serbia. It's home of the legendary Transylvania, and a very interesting language that comes out of the latin side of the Indo-European tree. It's a great place to visit. I went there a few years back and would go again. Beautiful architecture, fascinating history, nice people.
