What is NADP in biology?

IM studying biology can some one give what NADP is?

  • im looking at the molecular structer but havent yet learned to understand them fully

  • Answer:

NADP is Nicotimidide Adenine Dinucleotide Phosphate. It is essential co- enzyme in the photosynthetic machinary. Hydrogen is liberated during photolysis of water during Light reaction of photosynthesis. NADP binds to this hydrogen as NADPH2 and carries it to 2nd phase of reaction called Dark reaction, where H2 is being used for the reduction of CO2 to carbohydrates and NADP is released back.
