Does anybody accually know what the purpose of having an appendix is?

Even though it is commonly observed to have no function, in actuality it may serve a function not yet discovered. Most people believe that through evolution, the appendix used to have a purpose but is now unpurposeful, but because Macro-Evolution is too broad, and that would be just the easy answer out, It probably has some function we don't know of.

It helps in food digestion by adding enzymes bacteria to your stool.

It doesnt do anything important really. Its just there for nothing. With evolutioin this might be removed just like the tail. It didnt have any important function and by evolution humans dont have it anymore. We'll talk in a 1000 years time. ( In purgotry or heaven that will be !!!!)
