Which is the most stable nucleus?

Which is the only cell in body of a mammal not to have a nucleus n who is the only mammal to have its nucleus.

  • there is a cell in our body which do not contain its own nucleus. and it is the same with all the mammals except one. name that cell and the mammal.

  • Answer:

Actually, red blood cells DO have a nucleus, but platelets do not. It's easy to get them confused. All other cells in a mammal's body contain at least one nucleus (some cells of the immune system can actually have multiple nuclei).

"Actually, red blood cells DO have a nucleus, but platelets do not. It's easy to get them confused." Are you serious? I feel sorry for your students. Mature red blood cells DO NOT contain a nucleus. Immature red blood cells, yes.

Hmm

Erythrocytes, red blood cells, are anucleate in all mammals. The bit about camels having a nucleus is based on early false interpretation of an observation. A researcher perceived that the more oval shape of a camel is indicative of having a nucleus. That made it into the textbooks and was passed on over and over, but has since been disproven repeatedly. Some modern textbooks even contain this falsehood. Camels have no nucleus in their red blood cells. It's a good example about how exciting statements survive (i.e. camels are a crazy exception to the no nucleus rule) when the mundane retractions (i.e. camels are just like everyone else) don't get the same amount of press.
