Why did some chimps evolve into humans, and some remain chimpanzees?

If Chimpanzees are so genetically close to humans, is it possible to fertiflize a chimps egg with human sperm?

  • If Chimpanzees are so genetically close to humans, is it possible to fertiflize a chimps egg with human sperm?if this happened in a lab somewhere, would a half breed human-chimp be born? (I know this question sounds stupid but this is a serious question. my friend insists it is possible, I just want other opinions)

  • Answer:

I dont think its possible cuz there are some points in the dna strands of monkeys that are so different than humans.

It could happen on a super rare chance on the basis that if we had the same number of chromosomes as chimps. But there are several reasons why this hasn't happened. 1. We don't have the same number of chromosomes 2. Even if we do, the genetic make up is not complementary nor competent with each other, so mitosis and growth of the zyogote wouldn't occur.

A """ CHIMPMAN"""" WOULD B BORN

No. We may be closely related, but one of the classic definitions of species are two organisms which are separated by a reproductive barrier!

Sula

no and that's final because when you try and look deeper into that question you are just asking if a never true fiction to be reality and even so it will be very unethical

No way the dna are diffrent thats like dog and cat now way, God put everything on this earth and put a mate of the same, and it was not ment for animals to mate with people or people to mate with animals, everyone was put here to be with there own kind.

closeness and exact similarity are very different terms in genetics all species in earth are very distinct - and there is so much varitety just because everything cannot be crossed

No, we are still different species. Just like ferrets and rats come from similar backgrounds, you can't breed them together.

Think about it, if it was possible don't you think it would have happened by now?
