How can I stop myself feeling groggy in the morning when I wake up?

    Natural sunlight helps stimulate the production of melatonin, as well as a whole host of bio-chemical reactions to help you become more alert and more energetic. So, if you have your blinds/curtains closed, open them before you sleep and place your bed in direct reach of daylight. Caffeine, tobacco, alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, steroids, prozac, interfere with restful sleep, so not taking them would also help.

Well, how long do you sleep? It could be that you are over or under-sleeping. If you oversleep, it could cause grogginess, haha I've done that before practice and it's not fun. There are pills out there that actually kind of regulate how much you sleep. For 8 hours, it acts as a placebo, doing nothing to your system. After the allotted sleep time, however, the pill begins emitting caffeine. This will wake you up and probably make you feel energetic. Other than this, I don't know what else to say other than try to sleep more/less and see what happens.

It may also have something to do with what time you actually go to bed, because i know that when I go to bed late, say 1-2am, no matter how long i sleep I wake up feeling like i need to sleep for a few more hours, so try going to bed a little earlier.
