monera really isn't used in modern classification system but in the past monerans were(are) bacteria or those organims that lack a nucleus and other membrane bound organells. today moneras are part of a 6 kingdom system Eubacteria, Archaea...both previously grouped as moneras along with all the eukayotic kingdoms Protista, Fungi, Plantae, and Animalia
