If humans evolved from monkeys, how do so many species of monkeys still exist?

Because (duh) Humans DID NOT evolve from monkeys. All mammals have a certain amount of common DNA threads, humans just happen to be closer to monkeys than any others.

I don't think humans evolved from monkeys. I do, however, think that humans and monkeys share a common ancestor.

Monkeys and Humans are like distant cousins on a family tree. At some point millions of years ago, we share a common ancestor. That is why there are still monkeys.

First off, @FaceCancer: go screw yourself. Now that that is out of the way... What I believe happened is that some monkeys left their original habitat and because of their environment they had a necessity to evolve. Monkeys are naturally better adapted at living in the jungle than humans are. There may have been some genetic mutations that changed the monkeys and made them look or behave differently. The species that are alive have the ability to live and reproduce faster than they die. There doesn't need to be just one type of everything.
