I feel way to lazy like as if my energy to do even the smallest things around my house from dishes to putting on my shoes. I am not really fat but I am a bit over weight as well I want to get back into shap but my mind says sit and my bady says no. Yes I understand all the bad things anyone can say your just way to lazy but I am not I have been feeling like this fo ra short time and its making me go crazy. I can drink all the coffee in my house and still not get the jitters or even get the boost of energy it used to give me I even went off coffee for a month then started drinking it again. Still no change....I have called my doctor to find out what I can do or find out why this is happening to me I am a very upbeat person with no Depression at all. I take no meds at all not even birthcontrol (my husband had a vas.). I also have a very high sex drive so what is wrong with me I am stuck in limbo here wanting to see if anyone in the world has this problem I am sure lots of people have.

Answer:
Ask your doctor to check your Thyroid Levels. A Thyroid that is not working properly can cause extremely low energy and it is like you have to constantly lug your body around. Can I ask if you are suffering any other symptoms, ie hair loss or recent weight gain, or a difficulty moving weight? This is also related to a problem with the Thyroid. Another thing that you maybe lacking is Iron. Go back to your Doctor and get him/her to check all your blood levels and if they say no, push them to do it, or go to a different doctor. It is amazing what the blood will actually reveal about what is going on in your body. If you get nowhere with the Doctors or nothing shows up in your blood work, try an alternative form of Medicine and see if you can find an iridologist in your area. This alternative form of Medicine, looks into the eyes using a special machine and they can often pinpoint things that may not necessarily show up in the bloodwork. The iridologist might then suggest some sort of treatment for you which is normally a form of naturopathic medicine or may refer you back to your local doctor with the results of your eye test. Wishing you all the best. :)

I was going to recommend not too much coffee, but it seems you tried that. Are you getting enough sleep? Fruits and veggies (yes, your mother was right) have natural sugars that provide energy. As well as nuts... peanut butter is good for you! I grew up with both parents being doctors, so fruit and veggies were a big part of our diet. No one in my family is "Fat". Everyone is healthy. Enough sleep is a definite plus. We can't all get the 8-10 hours a day we need to function, but at least 7 hours, if possible. Go to sleep the same time each night and you'll start to feel a little more energy.

I can sympathize with you because after retiring a year ago, I started to get the same sorts of feelings myself. Looking back on the last year, I realize that my activities went from a feverish pace when I was working full time and trying to keep up with a family at home to having 10 hours a day extra time on my hands and I hadn't really figured out what I wanted to do in retirement. So I ended up being home all the time with my wife, and since neither she nor I like to travel, we pretty much stayed home every day. Now I'm beginning to realize that I need something that gets me out of the house at least every other day or so. This feeling might be the "cabin fever" you get when there's a big snowfall or something and the family is couped up in the house for awhile. So what you and I could try is to get out of the house more, and a good start would be a beginner's aerobics class for me anyways, but not at 8 AM in the morning! I'd also like to join a Bible study class, never having had the time to do that before. So I'll make a deal with you. Let's join an aerobics class together, except you'll be in your city and I'll be in mine. Then I'll have our class broadcast onto the internet and you can tune in during your class! How about that for an idea?
