    I’ve used a Mooncup (UK) for over 5 years now, still love it as it was a total life saver for me with my periods being so heavy I could barely leave the house when using tampons and pads, but now I have no more leaks, no fear of health risks, I can leave it in for ages, comfortable, plus it has saved me £2,000 per year now I don’t have to buy tampons and pads. Ladycup sent me one of their cups too when they first started up as I do a lot of work in sexual health so always like having samples and leaflets around for different things, I’ve not tried it yet but I see why younger women like it as it is much smaller and softer than other brands. I tried softcups before they were available here in the UK, I bought three boxes from eBay and pretty much still have those three boxes. They are far too difficult to insert, you cannot really tell that they are in correctly until you have had it in for a while and it hasn’t leaked. I found them messy too, I loved my menstrual cup as it was so mess-free for me, I expected the same form softcups but actually I found them to be really messy and difficult. They are marketed to allow for mess-free sex too, it works however my ex partner felt the cup and didn’t react well – I’ve used a diaphragm as a menstrual cup too, no good for heavy flow but great for mess-free sex during your period, much better than softcups anyway!

I've heard some good things about the mooncup, but I was a little concerned about it though, since I'm not too comfortable with putting things up there :S (I only ever use pads) Was also worried about what to do when you're in a public toilet etc but since you can wear it for 12 hours, I suppose it's not a problem!

Hi - Im in the UK, well i thought i was - i must be on another planet really cos i didnt know these existed!! am i the only one??? how do these work then? i just use tampons all the time they work for me (usually)

I’ve used a Divacup for a few years now, I thought it’d be difficult to use and was petrified of it at first as I always had problems with tampons hurting me so thought a Divacup would be worse and I’d have to send it back for a refund, but it was totally easy and comfortable. Really odd when I found out it was one of the biggest sized cups around! I don’t need a new cup yet, but I really wanna get a Miacup as it’s, like, BRIGHT PINK which is just super cool! ^_^

I use a Mooncup the UK ones. They are very good but haven’t tried other cups, they last for 10 years so I doubt I’d even need to try another one for a good while yet! LOL! All my friends are using them now and they love them too, plus you can buy them in Boots stores now so you can buy them yourself rather than getting your mom to buy them with a card online. Thank god I don't have to use tampons anymore or those nasty smelly pads - yuck!

I used to use a UK mooncup, but the first time I used it, it made my uterus contract and drew my IUD strings up into the body of the uterus and it's still there now :-( They're only okay if you don't bleed heavily. My periods were too heavy for it and it used to need emptying every hour!!!!!! They're very messy and painful to insert/remove. I'd never use another one.
