Can a lot of stress cause a woman to miscarry?

What will cause a woman's cycle to start to change all of a sudden?

  • I'm in my early 30's, and always was regular, every 28 days. as of late, I'm starting at every 21 days. I hate that. I get irritable and get cramps more often now instead of every four weeks, I get it every three. I'm also starting to get real severe headaches when I start, which I never had before. (been taking migraine medicine on and off for it) I'm not exercising a lot, but I am a little stressed, but then again, I have always been under a lot of stress my whole adult life, so that's not changed. Could it be peri-menopause? My grandma was in her late 30's when she started going through menopause. My mom was in her 40's. maybe I'm too young to be hitting that? I already have two children, and do not want to have anymore.

    it could be. i've had migraines with pms for years, and now that i'm 52 and am in that peri menopause thing i'm still having migraines, along with severe hot flashes and mood swings along with an occasional period whenever they want to show up. it sucks big time. this week end i've had such a bad migraine i thought i was going to have to go to the hospital but i stuck it out and today it's better but not gone. anyway, you aren't too young to be going through peri menopause, i've heard of it happening to women your age. our bodies just change as time goes on, and the different stages can last for years. i'm not about to take hormones though so i'm just goin' with the flow, no pun intended......

lmao at the post above this. Sorry. okay, seriously..since you have a family history of early menopause, then yes, it could be peri menopause. I'd go and see your ob though. Certainly sounds like something is going on with your hormones..headaches can be from this as well.

Lots of things can change the regular cycle of periods. It is not un normal and happens to most people. The most commen cause is stress but a number of other things can cause it such as diet change, weight gain, weight loss medication and so on! Hope this helps you!

Sometimes as us women get older our bodies do tend to do different things, like our monthly cycles can change, be it good or bad. I never use to get bad headaces before my period, but for the last few years I can get really bad headaces that just about make me want to throw up at times. Also, my periods are changing as well(I'm 38 and have had one daughter). If there is a family history of early menopause then, you might also go through it early as well, but I think the only way that you will really find this out, is to go and see your Doctor and maybe they can do some bloodtests to see what's happening there.

You need to see your doctor.....you may be developing cysts...in which case you will need to have them removed....either way that is the best thing for you to do...and yes as we grow older our periods change quite a bit..mine went from 5-7 days down to three...but the cramps and bleeding is far worse....best to get those things checked out....
