Why are Dragon Ball seasons so expensive and Dragon Ball Z seasons so cheap?

On half.com I'm finding that Dragon Ball seasons are twenty to forty dollars, but Dragon Ball Z seasons are more like seven to fifteen dollars. Is the first series that much more popular? Or are there fewer of them made?

I suppose there must be fewer of the Dragon Ball series Z has been seen everywhere and so many times besides with the comming of Kai they must have thought they wouldnt be selling as much of the original Z series
