  after the Civil War the registration act takes place with Tony Stark (Iron-Man) heading it, heroes have to be sign up with the government, those that don't get hunted down by a new Thunderbolts team headed by Norman Osborn (Green Goblin) made up of a bunch of villains The Avengers get a spin off book Avengers: The Initiative, a group headed by Iron man. (side note the Hulk comes back to earth, after being sent into space by a secret group that includes Iron man, Professor X, Black Bolt and Doctor Strange and beats everyone up in World War Hulk) the next big event cross over is Secret Invasion, where we find out that skrulls where hiding out on earth for years and some characters have been replaced by skrulls in a plot to take over the world. after the events of Secret Invasion Osborn becomes the head of HAMMER (which was a replacement for SHIELD) replacing Tony Stark. This leads into the Dark Reign events mainly the villains are in charge of the Marvel U. We get new series such as Dark Avengers and Dark X-Men made up of mostly villains and anti-heroes. Wolverine comic is replaced with Dark Wolverine and now follows Logan's son. we also get a new Black Panther (Shuri who is T'challa's sister) who takes over in a relaunch of the series. recently Captain America returns form the dead (he was actually bouncing around time) and we are going into new big event storyline called the Siege which has to do with Asgard, can't say much because it's just starting.
