How did Team Rocket ACTUALLY get promoted in Pokemon: Best Wishes?

• They weren't good at their job, so how did they get promoted all of a sudden? Their outfits were changed, and now they don't even do their blastoffs anymore. I don't mind the outfits too much, but they look like Team Rocket Grunts. Most importantly, what happened to their personalities? They used to be funny (and annoying), and now they're actually... Serious? They act competent and cooler now, but I sort of miss the old Team Rocket. Although it's working for the storyline, since it progressed pretty quickly. I'm impressed with Best Wishes so far. Hopefully they put Team Plasma in a lot of episodes (unlike DP, in which Team Galatic hardly got any screentime). Last question. When Will James get attacked by one of his grass type Pokemon? ;D

  From watching the episodes and reading the summaries, I'm starting to think that Giovanni (Team Rocket's leader) didn't really promote Jessie, James, and Meowth. Because nothing directly stated that they were promoted--the trio only assumed that they were getting a promotion for stopping Team Galactic, which they didn't really do. Giovanni only chose the trio, because there the only members of Team Rocket who's actually been traveling to different regions, which is why in the Diamond and Pearl episode of 191, Giovanni said, to his secretary, that Jessie, James, and Meowth would be "perfect for the job". Of course, Butch and Cassidy (the other Team Rocket members who have also traveled to different regions) could have been chosen, but the creators saw that Jessie, James, and Meowth were the main antagonists, so the trio was chosen instead. As for their outfits, I like the new outfits, but it doesn't necessarily mean they got a promotion. Please take notice that Giovanni also got an outfit change. So, I think that the creators simply wanted Team Rocket to look more sinister and dark. As for the trio's serious attitude, Jessie, James, and Meowth, in the first episode of the Best Wishes, said that they would not mess things up anymore and will start over, and that they will bring glory to the name of Team Rocket--or at least they said something along the lines of that. Also, Giovanni decided to give them new equipment, so that gave them the impression that Giovanni wanted to give them another chance to straighten-up-and-fly-right. Also, I kinda like the new Team Rocket --> It kinda gives them a "fresh look" rather than the same repetitive Team Rocket (meaning, if the same Team Rocket was brought to the Isshu region, then they will be predictable --> They have an evil plan, Ash foils it, and they blast off) Btw, did you know that the Isshu region is based off the United States, whereas the other four previous regions were based off some place in Japan? Which is why Route 1 is back, Ash has to travel to the Isshu region by plane, and people in the Isshu region were surprised to see Pikachu and Meowth. Just my input--I hope this helps ^_^
