Can you be a full-time comic book artist?
-
Hello. I was wondering if it was possible to become a full-time comic book artist. Sadly what I can see is that most comic book artists are freelance workers; which is not something I want to do. I am a college student majoring in illustration and there doesn't seem to be too many job opportunities for me. Please answer this if you can.

Answer:
Have you considered trying to do your own syndicated comic strip? That is what I'd like to do. I started trying cartooning many years ago and kind of dropped it, restarted and dropped it again. I'm just getting too old to work in a factory and I really need to do this. How about publishing your own comic book? Is something like that possible? I think it would be a little out of my reach.
