Why do we still say trick or treat?

Most people are trick or treating to get candy. or, TREATS. but we say trick or treat, how many people have actually pulled a trick on you instead of feeding your sweet tooth needs? and was their house TP'd the next day? :)

Tradition, kind of like jack-o-lanterns, its the spirit of the holiday and you can just go around saying TREATS, you wouldn't get much candy, it would just be rude!

i got a trick one time. they didnt have any candy or w/e and said oh u have to come back at liek ... 817 or some random time liek that no their house wasnt tp'd the next day. :( i never got that candy . . . . .
