  • I have to turn in an 2 1/2 - 3 page ad analysis essay. This is what I have so far. I am wanting to know if it sounds good. If I have it put together correctly and any grammatical errors. please let me know. Let the Battle Commence Standing in the center of the ad is muscular male wearing leather body armor with a gold symbol that is similar to the Pepsi logo. Underneath the leather body armor a blue shirt that is the same color as the traditional Pepsi logo. He is holding in his left hand a brown leather soccer ball. The background is all black, and his face is in a dark shadow. The characteristics of his face send out a message of being bold, confident, and strong. He has dark eyes with wrinkles on his forehead, and around his mouth. It looks like a game face ready for the competition. There is little color in the ad. Besides the blue shirt under the leather body armor there is a Pepsi logo in the top right corner of the ad. The bold print states in white letters; Let Battle Commence, and DARE FOR PEPSI along with a website to Pepsi.co.Uk/Football, which is placed at the bottom of the ad on both sides. The male figure in the ad is David Beckham. Villain’s burst through the village gates rushing in raiding the village in pursuit of finding every can of Pepsi. The villagers are running around as the villains search every possible hiding spot. David Beckham shows up with the UK soccer team and they use their soccer techniques tossing the soccer ball around the intimidating the villains. The villains surrender standing in a line as a goalie in front of the cart holding the cans of Pepsi hostage. The lead kicker of the UK soccer team, then kicks a goalie hitting the locked cart holding the thousands of cans of Pepsi ; which pops opens releasing the cans to spread all over the village ground. The villagers all are running toward the fallen cans of Pepsi rejoicing with parse the release of all their cans of Pepsi. David Beckham and the UK soccer team became the villager’s heroes. A young boy asked for David Beckham’s autograph as he took a drink from a Pepsi can, and David Beckham used the red feather from a villain’s helmet to sign the autograph for the young boy. When I first saw this printed ad I was not sure what to think of it. I had no idea who the male figure was in the ad. I did some research on the Internet, and I found out that the ad I am analyzing came from a T.V. Commercial in 2004. Pepsi and David Beckahm agreed to promote David Beckhams signing on with the UK soccer team. The printed ad is just a small picture from the commercial. After this paragraph I am suppose to add in a thesis statement which I am having some trouble coming up with at this moment. This is my very first ad analysis I have had to do.
