What does Chan and Kun etc mean in Japanese?

What does kun,chan,san,sama,senpai mean?

  • i don't know what they mean

  • Answer:

All are honorifics of Japanese origin. It is incredibly impolite to not apply one to someone's name. Kun: Usually applies to younger boys and occasionally to younger girls. Chan: Often between "girlfriends" - a casual title. San: Mr. or Mrs. Sama: Applies great respect. Senpai: Older classmate.

Other answers

If your talking about Japanese then then they are endings that you put on people names kind of like Mr. or Mrs. in English. kun and chan are used for little kids san is for when someone is of the same social class as you (people of similar age and so forth) sama is a term that indicates respect (used for your boss, or some one important) senpai or sempai (either spelling is accepted) is used for some that is your senior (if you go to school it is for students that are in the grades higher than yours, at work it would be people that have been their longer than you)
