Answer:
MDI means MIcrosoft Document Imaging file. It makes use of Optical Character Recognition and stores the document as is. Meaning, whatever is its layout, the same will be displayed. I think it is somewhat similar to PDF. PDF is usually associated with Adobe, I'm not quite sure but correct me if I'm wrong, and MDI, Microsoft. To get the software, I am not sure, download it.
