Outsourcing: does any one have any experience with outsourcing functions, like Accounting, etc?

  • A business owner who has approximately 120 full-time employees is considering outsourcing (to India) as a means to reduce expenses. My questions are: 1> What departments are excellent candidates for outsourcing? 2> What kind of expense savings should be expected (%)? 3> What departments are not excellent candidates for outsourcing? Any additional comments that could provide practical insight into this area would be greatly appreciated.

    1 - Best candidates are help desks. 2 - Minor savings unless you have a very seasonal activity 3 - Special projects departments like research and developpment

If you don't outsource your company will die in less than a decade. 3) Human Resources (Unless your Company recruits employees without meetings in person) Accounting is not a good Department to outsource to India because the Laws are not the same. However, you can outsource your entire Accounting Department to a Small Accounting Firm based in the United States of America.
