How do I sell items on craigslist?

• Whats the purpose of craiglook which helps you find an item you are looking for by checking craigslist listings everywhere even in toronto and all 50 states. When most people don't respond to emails where you ask them if they are willing to ship. I understand people being leery of fake money orders as craigslist advises you to be when you post an item but i don't know how to do that and who would go through all that for like a $20 money order? I have even tried to buy stuff in my state but downtown and asked them to send it so I don't have to drive. I say I will pay for shipping and extra to get a box and go send it as well. Still people refuse. I don't get it. I even offer to pay by my pay pal account. What gives?

  I use http://craiglook.com a lot but mostly to shop locally. Generally I don't look for deals more than 50 miles away (however if the price is really good I'm ready to drive 200 miles :-) Sad thing about Craigslist is that people are afraid to ship because of scams, even if you pay with the money order. The only way to have something shipped to you is to get personal with the owner :-) A friend of mine bought a car on the West Cost and had it shipped to East Coast, without any problems at all . Here are some tips: 1. First of all, show your interest - ask about item's condition, more photos, etc. DON'T say anything about how you're going to do the payment. People will freak if they see word "money order" or "cashiers check" in your first email. 2. Leave your name and the phone # and ask the seller to give you a call back. This is the most important step in convincing the seller you're not a scammer since they will have your name and a phone number and therefore will have no doubt you're a real buyer. 3. Explain your situation to the seller. They will ship the item if they're really interested in selling it. A friend of mine told me that 3 of 4 car sellers he contacted agreed to ship their cars. 4. Pay with cashier's check, not money order. If you're buying a car - you may also want to travel there or ask somebody to check it. 5.
