The Average Earnings Index (AEI), dating back to 1963, is the key indicator of how fast earnings, or pay, are growing in Great Britain. It measures how earnings in the latest month compare with those for the last base year when the index took the value of 100. The current base year is 2000. You could do a search for this. Also look on National Statistics online.

i would say around about a grand or less just depend on how many hours you work

That depends if on the job,if one was to average it on the national minimum wage@ 40hrs a week then you'd earn £11856.00.My husband is a diver and earns around £10,000.00 to £15,000.00 a month, and I'm a Northerner where the cost of living is a lot cheaper than down south. There are lots of people that have good paying jobs and those that work the national minimum,it would be difficult to say what was average, because those that earn less will tend to have two jobs,I remember it all too well.

don't know about Ireland but in the UK apparently it is £20-25k per year. After tax, etc. that would be about £1,250-£1,563 per month. However the minimum wage is only £5.35 which would equal about £660 per month! hope that helps! m x P.S. 'average' wages are skewed by those at the very low end (the minimum wage earners) and of course the small percent of people who earn millions a year!
