-
Net Income in year 2009 is $11490 and in year 2010 is $10560 Dividend in year 2009 is $4500 retained earning in year 2009 is $10957 and year 2010 is $15780 So what is the dividend in year 2010?
-
Answer:
Only two things affect Retained Earnings, earnings and dividends declared. Start with Retained Earnings at end of 2009, add 2010 Net Income, and subtract Retained Earnings at end of 2010. Any difference was due to a dividend in 2010. So 10,957 + 10,560 - 15,780 = 5,737 Dividends Declared.
