Where can we change coins?

Where/how can I change my coins to notes for free?

  • I have saved up a rather large sum of coins; £50 to be exact. I was just wondering where I could go to get them changed into notes for free? A bank is the obvious place, but I'm not sure if they would let me change my coins into notes, as im 15 years old. Can anyone please tell me if they would let me, or would I need someone over 18 with me, or would I need an account with the bank I go to? Help is appreciated :) Thanks, Jordan :D

  • Answer:

If you have a Tesco near you, most have a machine where you can deposit your coins and it adds them all up - then you get a receipt you take to customer services where they give you it in notes. (That's assuming you live in the UK, from using pounds :))

Some banks will exchange them for free. Age usually doesn't matter.

What you do is make an account and deposit them. Here in the USA my grand daughter at age 12 has her own account Maybe your parents will help you open an account since you are a minor I dont know what age you would no longer be a minor in the UK I am taking it that you are in the UK because of the pound coins you seem to have What you have is clos to 100 USD i think also
