How much can i sell 14 karrat gold amulet made from italy?

• my dad bought this gold amulet of jesus for 100 dollars off someone and thinks we can sell it for around 400-500 dollars, im not sure, it weighs alot and pretty sure it is real. it says on the back 14 karrat gold, and made in italy in very small letters. i want to know how much i can really get for it since i really need to get a laptop. i dont know much about gold, im sure its really exspensive these days for gold, and im not sure how i can guess how many ounces it is... but can anyone tell me how much u think i can get?

  Don't hold your breath for that $400-500, or you might get awfully blue in your face. There is a distinct possibility that you might not even get more than $100 for it. Gold in Italy costs the same amount as here in the States. This is one commodity that does not vary much all over the world. 14k gold is an alloy with 58.3% pure gold in it and it is worth $33 per gram or about a $1,020 per troy ounce (that's about 10% more than our std. ounce). I would guess that your amulet weighs no more than 2-3 grams, but you have to weigh it.
