USPS shipping time question?

Question about picking stuff up from USPS station?

  • The USPS people came today, but I wasn't home. The left a card stated the code number of the item and thename of the custom. Here is my question: - They ask to bring ID with me when i pick them up (say so on the paper), Can i bring my student ID since i am under 18 (17 right now). - This leads to 2nd question. This item bought on ebay, so i didn't use my REAL name, only my last name is real, but my first name isn't (they even wrote the wrong name of the sender). Will this be ok? Do i need to print out the order number and item description from ebay? I also have the delivery box from previous time, with the same seller and the same shipping company, do i need to bring that?

  • Answer:

If you take that card with you the PO, you shouldn't have to show any ID. The clerk at the PO will ask for ID if you don't have the card or if the item is "Restricted Delivery", meaning only the person named on the item can sign it.
