What is the best way to ship overseas?

What is the cheapest way to ship?

  • I sold some car electronics on eBay. I wrapped them in bubble wrap and shipping paper(did not put in box). What would be the cheapest way to ship the items? USPS or UPS? I looked up 1 of the items(component speakers) on Amazon and it says the dimensions are 17 x 5.5 x 12 inches and shipping weight is 8 pounds. The other item(an amp) is a bit smaller in size but weighs a bit more. I am looking for how is the cheapest way to ship this stuff? Would it be through USPS or UPS? The items are going from PA to CA and NC if that matters. Thank you. Here is a picture of 1 of the things I will be shipping if it matters: http://images.sonicelectronix.com/images/496837/big/rsd6.jpg Like I said I wrapped it in bubble wrap and shipping paper.

  • Answer:

    1) USPS will always be cheaper than UPS. Unless you need something to delivery rush (and on time), don't use UPS 2) you need to put the part in a container. Neither UPS or USPS will take a package in Bubble wrap and shipping paper oh sorry just realize by shipping paper you mean an envelop with bubble in it. If that's the case it is ok to ship envelop

you can't just ship a giant ball of bubble wrap. Seriously, put that thing in a box so it looks nice. I say you just go to your local store and ask for a quote. I think USPS specializes in mail and small orders so I would probably stick to UPS since they have giant trucks and they can take more out at once, and probable charge less since they're more efficient. I once shipped a guitar through USPS and they charged me like $20 dollars. It was thrown in a box that could probably fit two guitars and some bubble wrap and paper. I don't know which adds to the cost more, the weight or the size, but I'm pretty sure that I could've saved myself $5 bucks there by packing smaller. Lol. To add to your question, does anybody know what cost more? the size or the weight? for example, what cost more? 10lbs 4x6x1 or 20lbs 2x3x1?
