Wheres my tracking number?

What can I do if I loose a USPS tracking number?

• I bought a item from Jared Jewelry online. (DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM) I received it in the mail from UPS and later decided to return it. So I sent it back through the U.S.P.S priority mail. They gave me a tracking number and said it will take about three days or so. So I waite over a week and call and give the tracking number. The package was delivered to Jared's receiving. I now don't have the tracking number and Jared don't have "any records of a return". They can't see it was delivered or anything. This was a $1100 item that I will not pay for because it was returned on time. I used the Jared per-addressed slip that there shipments come with for returned orders. So what can I do? I don't have the tracking number, and the ideots can't see the package was returned when the USPS told me it was. I know I should have kept the tracking number, it said it was there... now what?
