When would be the best time to list my eBay item?

What happens on Ebay when someone bids and wins your item, but then never pays or arranges collection?

  • I listed an item fr the first time recently on Ebay which after a few bids was won by someone. As its a rather large item I had it listed as Collection Only, and shortly after the bidding came to an end the girl who had won sent me a message telling me her name and that she wanted to arrange a time to come pick it up. I replied, asking when she was free. After a few days of no response I emailed her again with mine and my fiances mobile numbers, and told her to call or email me. Now its been about 2 weeks and still nothing. What do I do? Should I make some kinda complaint about her to Ebay? Or somehow cancel the sale and list it again? Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • Answer:

eBay changed their rules. You can't leave negative feedback for a buyer. You can, however, file an unpaid item dispute. Once that's run, you can get your final value fee back and relist. The buyer isn't completely off scott free--she will get a bidding limitation for a while and if she does it again, can get booted from eBay.

You have already tried contacting her and it has not worked. You should send a complaint to Ebay and they will try contacting her. They will send you a response telling you if you're better off relisting it.

you leave negative feedback and tell ebay the item didnt sell, and relist

Yes-I'd report it to ebay. Relist the item and give her a negative feedback rating for doing that.

that sort of thing has happened to me a couple of times. Despite me sending emails to the buyer, i never did get a response, so i made a complaint via ebay. This has also happened when i have paid for an item and it never arrived. its hazzle i know but i cant understand why people bid then win and fail to pay or correspond with you. Shame really. Lodge your complaint and i think after a brief period of time you can re-list the item again. Good luck to you.

Well you get charged 8 % of the final bid so you need to raise a unpaid items dispute via the help link at the top right hand side just type in unpaid item and a link will appear

I would say you have done all you can and she has had more than enough time to pay up so you need to report it to ebay. In the my ebay screen next to the item you sold is a little drop down menu, one of the choices is resolve a problem, if you click this it will take you to a screen where you can report non payment of an item. I believe once you follow that through there is an option to relist your item free of charge. Hope that helps!

Report the item as unpaid, so ebay can refund final value charge. Report the ebayer, who bidded on your item. Relist your item, in the description section tell the time wasters to stay clear or dont accept bids from people with less than 10 positive feedback ratings.

you dont send them the item.

Hello, I do sell on ebay frequently and I know eBay policy very well. You can also find your answers on eBay website customer service FAQ. For your situation, you're suppose to write her email to respond within 7 days of auction closing...if she/he does not respond, you can file a dispute on eBay for item not paid for....eBay will then send the winner 3 emails for 7 days...if the winner does not respond to the emails, eBay will refund you your listing fees and final value fee and you can re-list your item back on eBay for free in some cases. If you're refunded your FVF by eBay, a a no pay item Strike will be given to the winner. Unfortunately, sellers cannot give buyers negative feedbacks anymore on eBay, so you really can't warn others on eBay about that particular buyer. All she gets is a strike! But you get your listing fee and final value fee back...you have a choice of re-listing if you want! Have you ever consider listing your collection items on "craigslist.com"? Items/things that are pick-up only is better with craigslist.com since people in your city or surround cities can easily see it and drive to you to pick up...and you pay NO FEE!!! You should try it, I hope have help with your question?
