Is there a tool that can be used to simulate credit card payments?

Who do I complain to about a company that has been charging my credit card for services that were never used?

  • My previous employer signed me up for a call recording service using my personal credit card. Since I left my previous employer a year ago, a service company (who my employer Singed me up with using my credit card) has been charging my card $50 a month, though I have never used the service. After just realizing they were charging me I called in a panic to cancel the account, and ask if they would refund some of the payments. They refused to refund anything claiming I was paying for the privilege" of being signed up so that I could use the service if needed. I don't have a problem paying a little something for their trouble of processing my card every month (which cant cost too much) but I dont want to pay for something that never got used. Can I threaten to complain to someone? Does it matter that I didn't personally sign up for the service with my own credit card? I would love any suggestions

  • Answer:

You did personally sign up for the account = your employer does not have your credit card information, so you gave it to them TO sign you up for the account. That is 100% EXACTLY the same as you signing up for the account. You have not worked for the employer for 1 year and have been charged $50 a month. Do you make so much money that $50 is not a big deal or are you so out of touch that you don't even glance at your bank charges.... - one month, two months, it might makes sense that this continued to happen = 12 months - it's either you need to take control of your own financial health so this doesn't happen or CONGRATULATIONS for being so rich that you don't worry about such petty charges. My guess is it's the former.

You'll get nothing back from the service provider and they didn't do anything wrong. What was the purpose of the service? Was it required for your job? If so, then your previous employer should have been paying that charge. If you could have said no, then they don't owe you anything. Why would you let your employer use your personal card for ANYTHING???

Sue this alleged previous employer. If you are signed up for something, you are obliged to pay. Whether you actually use it or not is irrelevant
