How can I get my cable company to change my mailing address?

• Two years ago, the address of my house changed. I didn't move, the county where I live just changed the numbers on certain houses. Since then, I've been having a running battle about getting my address changed on my account with them. They are still mailing to the old address, which sometimes delays my receiving their mail, or even gets sent back as undeliverable. I've telephoned and sent emails to their business department, but can't seem to make anyone understand what happened, or I'm told "we're looking into it". I feel like I'm getting the "run-around". What else can I do?

  Good luck with that! I had the same thing happen; it was something to do with the 911 emergency service. They said it was to "eliminate confusion", but it seems to have created more confusion. Getting business to change from my old house number was like trying to pull a crocodile's teeth. Some companies say they can't change anything until they get "official" information from the civil authorities. It's been almost 3 years for me and I see my old address is still being used on Yahoo maps, MapQuest and GPS systems which is a real hassle when trying to advertise a garage sale; I have to put both addresses and explain it in the ad, because my new number is on the house, but it's going to show up as the old address if they use these mapping services. Maybe if you're that concerned, you can call your state's Attorney General's Office, if you're in the U.S. Otherwise, just be patient - you know how slowly things move when dealing with these situations.
